Global Cases
The Philippines
FETCi provided professional consultancy service to diagnose, identify and address major technical and operational issues for a major local toll network operator.
Key fundamental issues are identified and an optimization and improvement plan is provided in order to improve the overall efficacy and efficiency of the local operator’s ETC operation. It is expected that the improvement program will help address future challenges and potential expansion requirements.
Kazakhstan
FETCi provided advisory support to the development of the national ETC system in the form of a complete Feasibility Study and the development of the nation’s ETC Operational and Contractual model as well as the tender strategy for future system deployment.
This entailed analysis and design that allows the system to successfully transition from the current state of sectional toll roads on key corridors to a nationwide e-tolling scheme. This required the progression from 1st Generation to 2nd generation with tolling based on a hybrid barrier-based, SLFF to All-Electronic MLFF.
Vietnam
FETCi advised the Vietnamese national ETC operator in the development of an ETC master implementation plan and also constructed the nation’s first RFID-based ETC pilot site in Central Vietnam.
The newly built pilot site formed the basis for the future national ETC system from coexist barrier-based ETC with manual toll collection to All-Electronic MLFF ETC.
Furthermore, based on the evaluation and assessment of the functional, technical, social economical and financial aspects of the tolling mechanism, FETCi helped the national operator to build up its ETC system architecture, business model, operation model, and policies and regulation strategies.
